Who’s Behind the Brand?
Hey there—I’m April Bordeaux, the creative force behind ABdesignerd.
My story? It’s a mashup of curiosity, guts, and a whole lot of “why the hell not?”
Creativity’s always been part of my DNA. As a kid, I was the one baking perfect mud pies, getting lost in books about faraway worlds, and sliding down the backyard fire tower pole with my dog Pixie watching over me. When college rolled around, I took the practical path—business and finance—and stepped into the corporate world, soaking up everything I could about marketing, communication, and how businesses really tick.
But that creative spark? It never dimmed.
A Creative Calling
Years later, during the economic downturn, life tapped me on the shoulder and said: “It’s time.”
I went back to school for art and design, reconnected with the creativity I’d always carried, and never looked back. Today, with dual degrees and over 20 years of experience, I bring a unique mix of business know-how and creative fire to every brand I touch.
Stepping into the Boss Era
After 11 years in the agency world—rising through the ranks to VP—I took the leap and launched ABdesignerd. That chapter shaped me, but this is where I found my voice. ABdesignerd lets me create with intention, joy, and real connection. I partner with small business owners to build bold, beautiful brands and craft clear, compelling visuals with real heart behind them.
Life Outside the Studio
Beyond the pixels and Pantones, I’m a third-generation Southwest Floridian raising a fourth.
I’m a mama to one amazing human, a dog, and a sassy kitten (rescued from the middle of a busy road), and I’m also “Mimi” to my daughter’s dog and cat. I’m a creative soul and an introverted powerhouse. My home is filled with laughter, books, music, and enough fur to knit a sweater.
I believe in giving back, lifting others, and designing with purpose—turning big-hearted ideas into visuals that truly connect.

Don’t let the soft floof and puppy dog eyes fool you—Sam is all business (unless snacks are involved). As ABdesignerd’s official Barketing Manager, he specializes in mid-day walk breaks, tail-wagging approval, and making sure every project is wag-worthy.
Jaxxon Kol
Pawject Manager, Perimeter Control
Don’t let the smile fool you; Jaxx takes his role seriously—no leaf, delivery truck, or neighborhood squirrel escapes his watch. He ensures the studio remains secure and squirrel-free, all while keeping timelines in check and occasionally offering a barked opinion on color palettes.
Luna Star
Purr-sonal Assistant
Equal parts mysterious and fabulous, Luna is my purr-sonal assistant and oversees operations from a sunbeam near the window or directly on the keyboard. She’s got an eye for aesthetics, a flair for drama, and a zero-tolerance policy for off-brand design decisions.
